Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable and curable forms of cancer. All women who have ever had sex need to have a pap smear, inlcuding those who no longer have sex. Women should have their first pap smear between the age of 18 - 20 years or a year or two after first having sex, (whichever is later) and continue having them throughout their life until the age of 70 years.
